The Fretboard Memorization Deck
Thank you for your purchase! Below you will find a PDF to help you understand your guitar flash cards. There is so much to cover on the topic of fretboard memorization that it’s literally impossible to explain it all in a few pieces of paper. To put it simply, you NEED to know ALL of this stuff if you want to really know your instrument and how music works. These are the pieces to the puzzle and understanding every flash card in this deck no matter which side you’re looking at is the long-term goal. “Long-term” doesn’t mean “Forever”, it might mean a year or so for some, but regular study and seeking out the things you don’t know will be the answer to making real progress in the area of memorizing the notes on the fretboard, intervals, music theory, rhythm, chords and scales. Hopefully this deck will begin to expand your musical vocabulary in a huge way!
The best way to make sense of things you might be confused about is to find a great guitar teacher who can direct your path. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at tunedinguitarlessons@gmail.com and I’d be happy to assist you any way I can.
I will be making updates to this page and am currently working on a Fretboard Memorization Training Course that will help you educate yourself on the content of these flash cards as well as several training exercises that can be applied to speed up the learning process. There are many items in this deck that if you are a beginner guitarist, might seem overwhelming or just outright confusing. If you’d like to get notified when this course releases, please subscribe to the mailing list below and I’ll contact you when it goes live. There will not be tons of e-mails sent out, as I personally HATE spammy e-mail lists.
Thanks again!
